Sara and Michael met in 1997 on the campus of Moody Bible Institute.  They were good friends for three semesters until Sara transfered to Sam Houston State University in TX.  Their contact was sporadic over the next several years, and they only saw each other once more before 2005.  In 2001, Michael and Sara crossed paths at the Cornerstone Music Festival.  It was 5am, and almost no one was on the road, but as they drew near and said a friendly hello, Michael added, "You remind me of my friend Sara."  Sara responded, "I think I am," and they soon made plans to go see some old friends the next day.  Their long-distance friendship continued sporadically, until early 2005, when Sara was visiting her sister in Chicago, and made plans to visit Michael as well.  They had a fun time visiting some of their old college haunts, but as they parted again, Michael dismissed his renewed admiration of Sara with, "But she's in Texas..."  Within a month, Michael was spending time with some common friends of theirs who made the comment, "I always thought you and Sara would get together."  This prompted Michael to call other mutual friends, who were equally positive, so Michael began to consider more seriously pursuing Sara.  They wrote e-mails and made occassional phone calls over the next several months, and their interest began to grow.  By late fall, they discussed how they felt, made plans to visit over the holidays, and officially began a courtship.  In April, Michael moved to Texas, and on June 17, with the help of Sara's family, Michael proposed and they were engaged.  They now are busy planning for their coming marriage!
